Conservative gain from Liberal Democrats

A by-election was held for the Inverurie and District ward of Aberdeenshire Council on 3 November 2016 following the resignation of Independent Cllr Martin Kitts-Hayes, elected as a Liberal Democrat, following the so-called 'Legogate' scandal (see link for details).

Colin Clark gained the seat for the Conservatives.
