Kilmarnock North, 2014

A by-election was held for the Kilmarnock North ward of East Ayrshire Council on 27 March 2014 following the death of SNP Cllr Andrew Hershaw.

Elaine Cowan held the seat for the SNP.

This was the first SNP victory in a local by-election since the Hamilton West and Earnock by-election on 8 December 2011.
