A by-election was held for the Landward Caithness ward of Highland Council on 2 May 2013 following the resignation of Independent Cllr Robert Coghill.

Gillian Coghill gained the seat as an Independent.

A later by-election was held in Landward Caithness ward on 28 November 2013.
