Midstocket/Rosemount by-election, 2015

SNP gain from Conservative

A by-election was held for the Midstocket/Rosemount ward of Aberdeen City Council on 1 October 2015 following the resignation of Independent Cllr Fraser Forsyth, originally elected as a Conservative, who is moving to York.

A previous by-election was held in the Midstocket/Rosemount ward on 16 August 2007 - the first local by-election held in Scotland after the introduction of the Single Transferable Vote for local elections - covered here.

Alex Nicoll gained the seat for the SNP.
