A by-election was held for the Oban North and Lorn ward of Argyll and Bute Council on 3 November 2011 following the death of SNP Cllr Donald MacDonald.

Louise Glen-Lee held the seat for the SNP.

A later by-election was held in Oban North and Lorn on 17 July 2014.
